McKesson, Novari partner on wait times solution

KINGSTON, Ont. – Recognizing that the management of surgical cases can be time-consuming and costly, especially when fax or paper is used for bookings and wait time reporting, McKesson has partnered with Novari Health to provide McKesson PHS clients with the Novari Surgical Access with Smart Wait solution. The companies have recently completed an HL7 interface between PHS and Novari Surgical Access.

John Sinclair, Vice President of Business Development with Novari, explains that Novari SA is a “web based tool that electronically connects the surgeons’ offices with the OR department and the pre-surgical team (PAC). It gives the surgical offices robust wait list management tools, allows them to transmit their OR bookings electronically to the OR department, all the while automatically opening and closing wait time cases in the background. Now in use at more than a dozen hospitals, it is changing how surgeons, OR departments and pre-surgical teams interact and communicate with each other.”
