Accentus wins contract with Queensway
Carleton
OTTAWA – Accentus Inc., a provider
of medical dictation and transcription solutions, announced that it has
been awarded a long-term contract at Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH),
a healthcare provider based in Ottawa. Accentus is providing QCH with
complete transcription outsourcing and speech recognition editing
services.
As part of the agreement, Accentus has deployed a team of certified
medical transcriptionists, dedicated project and account managers, and
IT support staff to manage the end-to-end transcription requirements of
the hospital.
The team will proactively facilitate the capture of accurate and timely
patient information for the hospital, while adhering to a stringent
quality assurance program, managing the day-to-day transcription
workflow, and carrying through on a contractual commitment to meeting
hospital defined turn-around-times. Once fully ramped, Accentus will
handle 300,000 plus minutes of transcription annually for QCH.
Accentus will also provide QCH with a seamless migration path to its
eDoc platform in Q2 2010, thereby replacing the hospital’s existing
dictation/transcription system.
eDoc leverages the latest dictation, transcription, and voice
recognition technology to deliver a completely hosted technology
solution based on a pay- and scale-as-you-go business model. eDoc is
hosted in the Accentus data centre located in Ottawa, Canada.
“We were in the market for a fully outsourced Canada-based solution that
would reduce our overall transcription costs without compromising the
quality or timeliness of our service”, said Michael Cohen, Vice
President, Clinical Support, Information Management & Chief Privacy
Officer, Queensway Carleton Hospital. “We chose Accentus because they
provided a cost-effective and industry proven approach that we believe
will produce high-quality medical documentation for our hospital.”
QCH projects significant cost-savings from its move to deploy an
outsourced turnkey solution for transcription technology and services.
This shift puts the onus of scheduling, turn-around-time, quality,
productivity management, training, and support on Accentus.
For QCH this means:
• significantly lower transcription costs;
• better turn-around-times;
• the industry’s highest quality output; and,
• ultimately, better patient care.
“We are very pleased to have been chosen by Queensway Carleton Hospital
to be their sole transcription solutions partner,” said Stephen Rogers,
Chief Executive Officer, Accentus Inc. “We look forward to providing QCH
with the kind of industry-leading transcription services and commitment
to quality that has made Accentus a leader in the medical transcription
industry.”
