N.B. chooses Sentillion for I.T. access
management
ANDOVER, MASS. – Sentillion, Inc., a leading provider of identity and
access management solutions for the healthcare industry, announced the
signing of a standing agreement for its Vergence product suite by
Contract Management Services (CMS) in New Brunswick.
CMS is a purchasing agency acting on behalf of the majority of the New
Brunswick Regional Health Authorities for the purpose of this sale.
Under the agreement all Regional Health Authorities (encompassing 51
facilities within New Brunswick), can purchase Sentillion’s Vergence
technology.
Vergence includes modules for creating user accounts, single sign-on,
single patient selection and strong authentication with Identix BioLogon
and Ensure Xyloc.
Five of New Brunswick’s health regions will implement Sentillion’s
Vergence product suite immediately – South East Regional Health
Authority, Atlantic Health Sciences Corp., River Valley Health,
Restigouche Health Authority and Acadie-Bathurst Health Authority.
These organizations will leverage Vergence to access patient information
securely between each region’s Hospital Information System and its
Community Health Centre Information System. Vergence will provide secure
access to MEDITECH, Agfa Healthcare, GE Centricity, and Purkinje
Dossier, as well as other clinical and non-clinical applications.
“This procurement process brought financial benefits as a result of the
strong collaborative effort from CMS with the participating New
Brunswick regional health authorities,” said Janice McKay, vice
president, procurement services, Contract Management Services. “The
regions combined their purchasing power and leveraged existing systems,
resulting in Vergence being chosen for administrative and clinical users
based in hospitals and community health centres.”
“By
leveraging Vergence we will be able to share critical patient
information securely between our regional Health Care Information System
and our newly acquired regional Community Health Centre Information
System, to ensure continuity of care,” said Jill Ritchie
(pictured at left), director of information services, River
Valley Health. “With Vergence, we can achieve integration of patient
information between MEDITECH and Purkinje and address some of our
acute-care challenges, such as quick sign-on in key clinical areas,
including the Emergency Room.”
Vergence is a modularized suite that includes user provisioning, strong
authentication, single sign-on, clinical context management and privacy
auditing. Sentillion’s products are already in use across North America,
including nationally recognized institutions like, Lahey Clinic,
Marshfield Clinic, Sharp HealthCare, University of Pittsburgh Medical
Center, Fox Chase Cancer Institute, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital &
Medical Center and all 163 Veterans’ Affairs Medical Centers.
