CellTrak awarded patent for mobile technology

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – CellTrak Technologies, Inc., a provider of mobile solutions for the home healthcare sector, announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued Patent Number 8,019,622 to CellTrak. CellTrak said it plans to use the patent to protect its intellectual property from competitors.

In addition, the company believes the patent helps create a standard offering of a mobile applications platform from CellTrak that can help spur innovation across the healthcare sector.

Titled “Home Health Point of Care and Administration System,” the patent is directed to aspects of CellTrak’s mobile staff scheduling, tracking and travel management, electronic visit record and care plan administration, and communications systems.

CellTrak will consider licensing its patents to other providers of mobile solutions, along with clients and academia who may be interested in using the foundational layers of the technology to develop mobile solutions.

CellTrak was awarded an initial 21 claims on the patent. The claims include a home health point-of-care and administration system having a server system in communication with a plurality of mobile devices associated with care providers. The server system includes modules for staff scheduling, tracking and travel management, visit record and care plan administration, and communications. The server system bidirectionally communicates with a plurality of mobile devices associated with the caregivers to assist in providing home healthcare services.

In addition to the initial patent CellTrak has filings for its hybrid visit manager solution along with intelligent forms automation solution for nursing assessments, reassessments and discharge functions. Moreover, CellTrak has broadened the claims around the original patent filing and has filings focused on the specifics of electronic visit verification with location based services.
