Meditech, Cerner to exhibit at HIMSS ’12 in Las Vegas
Meditech and Cerner, two of the largest suppliers of Hospital Information Systems, announced they will be returning as exhibitors to the HIMSS conference, and will have booths on the show floor at HIMSS ’12 in Las Vegas, Feb. 20-24.
For its part, Meditech has been absent as an exhibitor since 2009. However, a news item on its webite offers the following information: “Meditech is excited to announce its return to the Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition, on February 20-24 at the Venetian Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. We encourage all of our customers to visit our booth and attend our education sessions, where we will showcase our latest EHR offerings.
“We are thrilled to be returning to HIMSS 2012,” says Hoda Sayed-Friel (pictured), vice president of marketing for Meditech. “This is such an exciting time for us. We have a new, expanded mission as an EHR vendor to discuss with customers, new features to highlight, and a new web-based product we want to introduce at HIMSS. We have a full schedule of activities planned for the conference.”
For Cerner, it’s the first appearance as an exhibitor at HIMSS since 2008. According to a report in Health Data Management, the company has heard from clients that they want the company at the show. “Our clients have requested an opportunity to showcase our collective accomplishments in health care, and so we will be returning to the tradeshow floor for this year,” said Zane Burke, executive vice president.
According to a message on the Cerner website: “Cerner believes the education opportunities that HIMSS offers our clients and our industry provide incredible value. Our clients have requested an opportunity to showcase our collective accomplishments in health care, and so we will be returning to the HIMSS tradeshow floor this year.”
Cerner solutions will also be featured in the Interoperability Showcase and ICD-10 Knowledge Center.
