On The Go acquires Island Corp.
CONCORD, Ont. – On The Go Technologies Group, a leading
computer VAR, systems integrator
and corporate digital service solutions provider, announced
that it has finalized the purchase of Island Corp., a prominent computer
hardware and software Value Added Reseller and solutions provider to the
North American medical imaging and research markets. The terms of the
acquisition are cash and company stock.
Island Corporation is the fifth acquisition for On The Go since October
2003. With its completion, management expects the company’s revenues to
increase an additional $4 million.
Founded in 1992, Concord, Ontario-based Island Corp. offers best of
breed servers, workstations, storage, network and peripheral products
and well-respected solution packages for the North American medical
community.
The company offers a complete diagnostic imaging/IT product line,
incorporating DICOM storage, security and all viewing needs from a great
variety of industry heavyweight vendors. The company’s services include
DICOM connectivity, data migration, disaster recovery and Linux HPC
solutions for scientific research.
Some of the largest and most prestigious medically focused companies
rely on Island’s products and services as their digital solution.
Manufacturers including Sony, Xerox, HP and Siemens, and medical
software gurus Vital Image and Etiam are among the many vendors that
Island represents.
