EMIS Canada hires new chief operating
officer
EDMONTON –
EMIS Canada, a developer of electronic medical records and clinical
software solutions, has announced the appointment of Eric Gombrich
(pictured) to
the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer. EMIS Canada is a
subsidiary of British-based EMIS, which is a top supplier of physician
practices systems in the United Kingdom.
Mr. Gombrich’s main focus will be providing strategic leadership, direction
and management of all activities of the company as it accelerates its
efforts to make its Patient Care System available to providers
throughout Canada.
He has over 20 years experience in the healthcare informatics industry,
including business development, sales and marketing, and product
management of electronic medical record and clinical software solutions.
“Eric will be a vital asset to the company and brings global experience
that will strengthen our senior management team and have an immediate
impact in leading the ongoing expansion of EMIS Canada,” said Peter
Anderson, CEO, EMIS Canada.
Most recently, Mr. Gombrich has been responsible for the introduction and
development of a U.S software developer’s international activities as
their Vice President of International Business Development, where he has
had major adoption success.
EMIS launched its Canadian operations in Edmonton last year. In the UK,
EMIS hosts over 33 million electronic medical records in its systems.
According to the company, approximately 55 percent of doctors in the UK
