Osler chooses SolCom for records management

BRAMPTON, Ont – William Osler Health Centre (WOHC) has signed an agreement with SolCom, Inc., of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for the company’s SolComHealth software. The William Osler Health Centre group includes Etobicoke General Hospital, Peel Memorial Hospital and Brampton Civic Hospital.

William Osler Heath Centre issued an RFP in 2006 in search of a qualified Electronic Health Information Management (e-HIM) Solution. SolComHealth was the e-HIM solution chosen to handle WOHC’s records management and workflow management goals. Specific goals are to expedite and improve chart deficiencies, information requests and compliance reporting.

According to the company, SolComHealth shined in its cost-effectiveness and integration power with Medseek, the existing clinical portal system, and Meditech, the existing clinical information system at WOHC.

“Adding SolCom to our environment gives our physicians a single sign-on interface to access all clinical information,” said Judy Middleton (pictured), Chief Information Officer for WOHC. “Choosing SolCom enhances not only one facility’s immediate needs, but the long-term needs of our entire network.”

Implementation, installation, testing and training has already begun. On-going support will be provided for the duration of the contract.
