Large Oshawa clinic selects Orthocrat
for surgical planning
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Oshawa Clinic,
Canada’s largest private physician practice, has selected Orthocrat, a
leading digital orthopedic surgical planning solution, to provide
advanced surgical planning and templating software for its
orthopedic surgeons.
The three-clinic system, located just east of Toronto, recently adopted
Orthocrat’s TraumaCad orthopedic surgical planning software as a fully
integrated element of its new IntelePACS picture archiving and
communication system. The new PACS system will serve more than 90
physicians in the flagship Oshawa Clinic, as well as the group’s
Courtice Health Centre and Taunton Health Centre.
By incorporating TraumaCad, the new PACS gives orthopedists ‘anywhere
access’ to powerful surgical planning tools.
“Our PACS implementation team is very happy with our choice of TraumaCad.
We were very pleased with the readiness of TraumaCad as our PACS
deployment team had pre-loaded all the orthopedic templates currently
used by our surgeons,” says Deric Smith, PACS Administrator for Oshawa
Clinic. “The implementation of TraumaCad has propelled the Oshawa Clinic
into the digital world of surgical planning. The user friendliness of
the software has made it simple in training our orthopedic surgeons
onsite.”
TraumaCad’s integration with Intelerad’s state-of-the-art IntelePACS
gives orthopedic surgeons user-friendly access to advanced display
protocols and flexible review functionalities across the enterprise.
TraumaCad’s orthopedic planning tools are available anywhere on the PACS
network.
Templated images are seamlessly updated so surgical plans are available
on demand throughout the enterprise. “Orthocrat is proud to have our
TraumaCad software selected by Canada’s largest medical group practice,”
said Zeev Glozman, Orthocrat’s founder and CEO. “Oshawa’s choice of
TraumaCad illustrates Orthocrat’s rapid growth in international markets,
as orthopedists worldwide recognize the benefits of our robust surgical
planning solution.”
TraumaCad brings Oshawa a host of advantages over competing
applications, the company said. Most importantly, TraumaCad is a true
thin-client solution, whose Web-based architecture enables downloads
from a central server and delivers a consistent, PACS-integrated working
environment, regardless of the user’s location.
