Workshop on point-of-care testing to be held in Toronto

POCTORONTO – The Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare will be holding a Point-of-Care Testing workshop in Toronto, October 14, 2014. The IQMH and international industry leaders will demystify and discuss this growing trend to highlight its added value, and to address existing quality management practices in POCT work flow.

The workshop will also cover future trends in legislation and innovation. This event has an international scope as it coincides with the 20th ISO/TC212 Plenary and Working Group meetings in Toronto, October 14-17. Speakers and attendees will arrive from around the world.

There will be presentations and roundtable discussions from international key opinion leaders around the following themes:

• Where is POCT being done?

• Health policy framework – who controls it? How is information integrated into medical records?

• Quality management and workflow. Quality control and assurance in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases.

• Future of POCT.

The workshop will be attended by individuals and organizations who are involved in point-of-care testing from differenct perspectives – legislation, manufacturing, distribution, administration, utilization and patient advocacy.

The event will be held at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, Birchwood Ballroom, in downtown Toronto. Registration is $150. For more information, see https://iqmh.org/Services/EducationTraining/PointofCareTestingTodayandTomorrow/tabid/470/Default.aspx
