Ontario chain
of wellness clinics opts for hosted EMR
The
Markham-based AIM Health Group, which operates the largest independently
owned group of medically-based Health and Wellness Centres in Ontario,
has selected Nightingale On Demand as its exclusive practice management
and EMR provider. AIM signed a five-year agreement with Nightingale for
the hosted system, which requires only an internet connection to access
it and doesn’t require costly installation of servers at each clinic
location.
Through this agreement, Nightingale will support AIM’s 150 healthcare
professionals who conduct more than 1.5 million patient visits across
its clinics each year. Patients will also be offered Nightingale’s
integrated patient portal, which provides them access to their personal
health record (PHR) acting as a health management tool.
Nightingale On Demand is a web-native system that offers
enterprise-wide, fully automated practice management capabilities for
billing, scheduling and other administrative functions necessary for
managing a full spectrum of patient care.

The Nightingale solution is eligible for funding for qualified Ontario
physicians that are part of the AIM Group, which delivers services
through a combined public and private structure.
The centralized practice management capabilities with Nightingale On
Demand will enable AIM to efficiently manage both private billings and
services covered by provincial health agencies that are delivered across
all clinics.
AIM will realize cost efficiencies with Nightingale’s hosted EMR
solution ASP that would not be possible with a local client server
solution. The Web-based solution provides a seamless exchange of
information among healthcare providers and staff across all clinics.
Nightingale also guarantees unlimited 24-hour support, which means
internal IT support staff aren’t necessary. AIM will also receive system
updates and file backups at no additional cost, so every clinic will
always operate on the most current version of Nightingale On Demand.
Under the terms of the five-year agreement, AIM will pay for all
training and implementation services and an agreed upon variable monthly
transaction fee measured by the number of patient visits. For more
