Portable blood pressure meter plugs into smartphone
iHealth , makers of popular smartphone-connected wireless scales, glucometers, and blood pressure cuffs are releasing a new blood pressure monitor that uses your iPhone or iPad to control the device and display readings. Designed to be more affordable while offering similar features compared with iHealth’s previous models, the iHealth Ease is very portable and costs only $40.
Not having to have its own display and the accompanying internal electronics, the Ease is essentially an arm cuff with a base attachment to your portable device. Plug in the phone, put on the cuff, launch the app and now you have a full featured blood pressure meter.
The new iHealth MyVitals Triple-Check option ensures thorough and accurate data by taking your blood pressure three times and averaging the results. Your measurements are stored and charted with past readings to give you a clear overview of your blood pressure trends at a glance. The app also detects irregular heartbeats and stores unlimited users and readings.
