Young Lee to join team at North York General

TORONTO – Young Lee (pictured) will join North York General Hospital as Vice President, Corporate Performance and Digital Health Innovation, Chief Financial Officer on February 1, 2021. Young has had a 25+ year career working across several hospitals and private corporations. He joins NYGH from his role as Vice President, Planning, Innovation and Transformation at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, Ont.
At Grand River, where he has worked since 2017, Young has led a portfolio that includes the quality and performance management, information management, decision support, health records, privacy, biomedical engineering, research and innovation departments.
Young also leads the PRISM common system implementation project. The goal of the project is to develop a health information system that can meet the needs of patients and care providers across Waterloo Region and Guelph Wellington.
Recently, he spearheaded a project that moved 30 years of legacy data to a “data lake” in the AWS cloud, a first for a Canadian hospital.
Young has health sector experience as a clinician, leader and consultant. Prior to joining Grand River Hospital, Young was a partner and national health transformation services leader for Deloitte. His consulting engagements have included projects in health information management, large transformation initiatives, digital health solutions, shared services, quality improvement as well as health services and integration planning.
Young holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is also a Chartered Professional Accountant.
