Halton FUTURES Innovation Summit coming this month
October 4, 2017
BURLINGTON, Ont. – Digital technology innovation is changing healthcare, and Haltech Regional Innovation Centre wants hospitals and medical centres, citizens and business leaders to be aware of these new exciting innovations at their 2nd annual Halton FUTURES Innovation Summit.
The one-day summit, which is themed “Health.Tech.Connect,” will take place on October 17th, at the Oakville Conference Centre. The conference will shed light on how digital technology solutions such as cloud data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), telemedicine, Internet-of-Things (IoT) and wearable accessories are transforming the delivery of healthcare services from the hospital clinic to community care and home, to enhance the patient experience and community wellness.
The summit will feature over 15 speakers including three keynote talks who are leaders in the healthcare technology industry. A highlight keynote talk will be presented by Dr. Sandeep (Sonny) Kohli (pictured), who is the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer at Cloud Dx, and a physician of internal medicine at Halton Healthcare.
Cloud Dx was recognized as a top 20 finalist for the 2017 Canadian Innovation Exchange (CIX) awards. Dr. Kohli will speak about innovations in mobile health to delegates from the healthcare industry, technology innovators, business leaders and investors, among others attending the summit.
“Bringing digital technology into the front lines of healthcare empowers patients to better manage their health and wellness, while enabling clinicians and hospitals to increase efficiencies, allowing time for all providers across the spectrum of care (from support workers to nurses to physicians) to do their best work’ says, Dr. Kohli.
Other keynote speakers include Nathalie Le Prohon, Vice President of Healthcare Industry at IBM Canada, and Andre Leidenheimer Ruiz Soler, Head of Enterprise Services Solution Strategy at Microsoft Canada.
This summit will also feature a Health Leadership panel discussion on best practices for delivering patient-centered healthcare services, a corporate exhibition with over 20 exhibitors, and a Tech Startup Spotlight session to highlight four local rising stars who are commercializing smart technologies for healthcare and other markets.
This Halton FUTURES Innovation Summit is co-presented by Haltech Regional Innovation Centre and Halton Region Economic Development, and supported by 18 corporate sponsors and academic institutions who operate in Halton region.
