OCINet hires Darcelle Hall
October 11, 2023
TORONTO – One of Ontario’s respected healthcare privacy experts, Darcelle Hall (pictured), has joined OCINet on a full-time, permanent basis as Privacy Program lead. Darcelle has worked with OCINet (via HDIRS) on privacy matters on contract since 2017 and assumed the role of full-time privacy manager on October 2, 2023.
Over her consulting career, Darcelle has led the conduct of over 150 privacy impact assessments and supported the design, update, and implementation of privacy programs for a broad range of healthcare organizations. As part of the OCINet leadership team, Darcelle will now work with internal and external stakeholders and hold responsibility for all aspects of privacy as it relates to OCINet.
Darcelle is ready to share her knowledge. “With the regional DIRs, we’ve established the foundations for an excellent privacy program, but there’s so much more depth and value we can add. I’m looking forward to building out a strong privacy program for OCINet as a provincial organization.”
Shafique Shamji, OCINet’s president & CEO, is excited to take privacy to the next level. “Darcelle’s skillset in relation to privacy in healthcare, in this province, is unparalleled. With Darcelle coordinating our Privacy Advisory Committee and leading our privacy efforts, we can confidently grow while supporting our members and their patients.”
