That number equates to about one in every 13 people in the province. And according to Eastern Health, it could go even higher, CBC News reported. CHARLOTTETOWN – Health PEI is notifying the public of a recent privacy breach as the result of a stolen laptop. In early April, an employee’s laptop was stolen, containing information about more than 4,000 patients and more than 1,200 Health PEI employees. The laptop theft was reported to police the following day.

TORONTO – The Scarborough Health Network (SHN), which includes three hospitals and eight satellite sites, said some of its servers containing a variety of personal patient details were recently breached. The hospital said its IT department first noticed “unusual activity” on its servers Jan. 25. Its investigation with cybersecurity experts found past and present patient data may have been accessed.
