Platform announced for the Intelligent Hospital

February 5, 2014

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – InterSystems, a global leader in software for connected healthcare, and the Intelligent Hospital, a subsidiary of the RFID in Healthcare Consortium, have announced that InterSystems HealthShare will be the official health informatics platform for the Intelligent Hospital Pavilion at HIMSS 2014 in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 23-26, 2014.

One of the most popular attractions at HIMSS, with over 7,000 visitors last year, the Intelligent Hospital Pavilion will provide exciting demonstrations and use cases of health information technology from multiple collaborating vendors.

InterSystems HealthShare is a health informatics platform that provides strategic interoperability and analytics for action across a hospital network, community, region or nation. At the Intelligent Hospital Pavilion, HealthShare will enable technologies from multiple vendors to interoperate seamlessly with state-of-the-art medical equipment, illustrating how interoperability improves the overall patient care experience.

“Interoperability is not a pipe dream. InterSystems is delivering an informatics platform for strategic interoperability today, and we are delighted to work with InterSystems as a sponsor as well as active participant in the Intelligent Hospital Pavilion,” said Dr. Paul Frisch, President, CTO, RFID in Healthcare Consortium.

“InterSystems is thrilled that HealthShare has been selected as the official informatics platform for the Intelligent Hospital Pavilion. We believe healthcare IT breakthroughs start with capturing, sharing, understanding and acting upon all patient data, including the critically important insights found in unstructured patient notes and images. This is why we consider interoperability a strategic imperative,” said Paul Grabscheid (pictured), Vice President of Strategic Planning, InterSystems.

Certified for interoperability by IHE USA and ICSA Laboratories, InterSystems HealthShare is used by leading healthcare providers, statewide HIEs, and national health systems worldwide. HealthShare facilitates strategic initiatives such as population health management, care coordination, community engagement, and more patient-centered care.

InterSystems will demonstrate use cases of its informatics platform at three Intelligent Hospital Pavilion rooms that simulate points of the care continuum:

  •   Emergency room
  •   Labor and delivery
  •   Cardiology suite

Nelson Le, MD, Clinical Advisor for InterSystems, will be presenting at the Intelligent Hospital Pavilion at HIMSS 2014, Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at 1:00-2:00 pm, Booth 8265-61. His topic is “Population Health Management: The Health Informatics Platform for Analytics and Actions.”
