Administrative Solutions

Vendor credentialing system introduced at Rouge Valley
February 5, 2014
TORONTO – Vendorlink.ca Ltd., a leading web-based provider of vendor and contractor management to hospitals, is pleased to announce that Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS) has implemented the Vendorlink.ca solution.
RVHS has a long history of adopting innovative technology to improve patient care. The Vendorlink.ca solution is an efficient ‘one-and-done’ solution.
RVHS joins other Ontario hospitals in requiring vendors to use the Vendorlink.ca web-based subscription model, which allows vendors to share their credentials with any participating hospital across Canada.
As more hospitals enter the Vendorlink.ca ecosystem, the efficiencies for vendors, hospitals and the healthcare system as a whole increase dramatically, the company said.
Managing vendor and contractor compliance puts a heavy administrative burden on hospital departments. Vendorlink.ca has become an extension of hospital operations and helps support patient care by reducing the load on busy staff members.
Badges allow vendors to access secure work areas and provide a means of identification as they move about restricted and/or sterile areas. Vendorlink.ca’s automated solution provides Rouge Valley with a web-based infrastructure to effectively screen, monitor and manage access to vendors that have access to patient care and information. For patient safety purposes, only vendors who understand and agree to RVHS’s policies can receive a valid photo ID card.
“The last few years have been an incredibly exciting time for Vendorlink.ca as we have worked to meet the evolving needs of our hospitals. They are seeking to gain control of third parties that provide valuable services and have a direct impact on the quality of care that patients receive,” said Michelle Floh (pictured), Vendorlink.ca Chief Executive Officer.
“A distinctive characteristic of the Vendorlink.ca solution is our ability to act as a trusted third party charged with verifying, storing and monitoring the information supplied by vendors and contractors.”
Through this new partnership, Vendorlink.ca will work closely with RVHS to streamline and automate the vendor credentialing and management process. This improvement in process and approach will reduce time wasted screening vendors, help arrange and make meetings between vendors, clinicians and administrators more efficient, maintain regulatory compliance and improve staff/vendor relationships.
