McKesson welcomes new president for medical imaging

RICHMOND, B.C. – McKesson Technology Solutions, a leading provider of healthcare IT and enterprise medical imaging solutions, is pleased to announce that Erkan Akyuz (pictured) will be joining the organization as President, Imaging & Workflow Solutions (IWS). Erkan brings extensive industry knowledge and hands-on leadership experience to the group.

Based in Richmond, B.C., and with offices in Tel Aviv, United States, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, the Imaging & Workflow Solutions group is an important part of McKesson’s Technology Solutions business. The business unit supplies enterprise medical imaging solutions for radiology, cardiology, image repositories, workflow (QICS) and professional services to healthcare providers of all sizes and complexities.

Most recently Erkan was President and Chief Executive Officer at Vital Images Inc and Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Agfa HealthCare, a $1.6 billion subsidiary of Agfa, with oversight of the Imaging Informatics business. Erkan holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Turkish Naval Academy, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, France.
