Five Ontario hospitals renew transcription contract

KINGSTON, Ont. and ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – Terra Nova, a leading provider of clinical documentation solutions, has announced the extension of its multi-year contract with Shared Support Services of Southeastern Ontario (3SO).

A shared service organization with member facilities Kingston General Hospital, Hotel Dieu Hospital, Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital, Providence Care, Lennox and Addington, and Quinte Healthcare Corporation, 3SO improves service levels and maximizes supply chain efficiencies across its facilities.

“Achieving a high-level of operational efficiency without impacting the quality of healthcare provided within our facilities is our top priority,” said Deb Sapp, Manager, Health Information Services, Hotel Dieu and Kingston General Hospitals, a 3SO member facility.

“Terra Nova was selected during the RFP process based on many factors, one of which was results achieved through their services,” said Sapp. “We have worked with Terra Nova on our transition to new technology, and we could not have had a better partner. This long-term relationship continues to help us keep pace with the needs of our healthcare providers and our patients.”

Terra Nova provides clinical documentation services to healthcare facilities throughout Canada and the United States. The multi-year contract will see Terra Nova handle a combined total of up to 5.5 million lines of transcription per year.
