Oncology EMR achieves Infoway certification

December 3, 2014

TORONTO – Canada Health Infoway (Infoway) and Elekta announced that the MOSAIQ Ambulatory (outpatient) Electronic Medical Record solution has achieved Infoway’s J-Class, Laboratories certification. “We congratulate Elekta for achieving Infoway J-Class certification for their MOSAIQ Ambulatory EMR solution. This milestone ensures that their solution conforms to the national and international standards for privacy, security and interoperability,” said Trevor Hodge (pictured), Executive Vice President, Canada Health Infoway.

Elekta’s MOSAIQ Ambulatory EMR solution underwent an assessment process to demonstrate that it has met a series of pre-defined, domain specific assessment criteria set by Infoway in order to achieve certification.

“We’re very proud of this achievement, as this is the first time in Canadian history that an Oncology Ambulatory EMR Solution has been certified by Infoway,” said Todd Powell, Executive Vice President, Elekta Software. “The comprehensive functionality of MOSAIQ in clinical environments makes Infoway certification an important step in its evolution. This is significant for MOSAIQ, as it ensures privacy and confidentiality while enabling radiation and medical oncology staff to seamlessly share clinical information.”

MOSAIQ is a vendor-neutral, scalable platform that centralizes radiation and medical oncology patient data into a single-user interface, designed to provide a complete picture of patient care.

Infoway Certification Services provides a process to certify trusted, standards-based health information solutions. It offers pre-implementation certification for the following technology classes:

  • Ambulatory Electronic Medical Record (aEMR)
  • Client Registry
  • Consumer Health Application
  • Consumer Health Platform
  • Diagnostic Imaging (DI)
  • Drug Information System (DIS)
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Immunization Registry
  • Provider Registry
