Extenway terminals selected by Mount Sinai Hospital
December 17, 2014
TORONTO – Mount Sinai Hospital has chosen Extenway Solutions Inc., of Montreal, as its vendor for bedside terminals. The Extenway terminals will be installed at 350 beds in the hospital facility and will provide an array of “infotainment” services when completed on or about April 2015.
The range of entertainment options made possible by the bedside terminal includes Internet access, movies on demand, radio, games, audiobooks, videoconferencing with family members and access to HD digital TV.
The terminal monitors also offer major potential as support tools for healthcare teams, and may be considered in the future for clinical services including orders for medical tests, viewing X-rays and scans, medication management and access to patient electronic medical records.
“Mount Sinai Hospital is internationally renowned with a major reputation for excellence,” said Extenway president and CEO John McAllister. “We’re extremely proud that an institution of this stature has decided to adopt our infotainment solution. Obviously we’ll be devoting our energy in every possible way to making sure their decision is a success.”
