Zonare wins contract with Winnipeg Regional Health

March 4, 2015

Zonare

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – Zonare Medical Systems, Inc., a developer of next generation ultrasound technology, announced the company has recently been awarded a multi-year contract with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA).

The agreement enables member facilities of the organization to purchase Zonare’s Z.one ultra, Z.One PRO and ZS3 ultrasound systems, which are based on award winning ZONE Sonography Technology (ZST).

“We are pleased to be part of the team for this outstanding organization,” said Vince Arsenault, managing director of Zonare Canada. “In the hands of the skilled professionals at WRHA, we believe our technology will provide greater information to assist in making the best informed diagnoses. We look forward to growing our capabilities to support the changing imaging needs of this highly regarded group.”

ZST has been bringing cutting-edge ultrasound technology to clinical environments, providing unique continuous transmit focus. Unlike conventional beamformer, line-by-line imaging, ZST uses software-driven, large zone acquisitions, rendering an entirely new and different approach to ultrasound data acquisition and image formation.

The result is more imaging detail with consistent, superb resolution and uniform imaging at depth from the smallest to the largest of patients throughout the field of view. ZST also allows easy upgrades to the platform.

WRHA is one of the largest and most diverse health regions in Canada. It is responsible for providing healthcare to more than a million residents located throughout the city and surrounding area.

Zonare was recently recognized by Frost & Sullivan as the 2014 winner of the North American Ultrasound Enabling Technology Award, which was presented to the company in Toronto. It is the third time in 10 years the company has received this prestigious award.

About the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA)

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is responsible for coordinating and delivering health services, and promoting well-being within the Winnipeg and Churchill geographical areas. With approximately 28,000 people working within the region and an annual operating budget of nearly $2.6 billion, it is the largest health authority in Manitoba. The health authority serves residents of the city of Winnipeg and surrounding municipalities as well as the northern community of Churchill, representing a total population of over 700,000. The health authority also provides support and specialty referral services to nearly half a million Manitobans who live beyond these boundaries, as well as residents of northwestern Ontario and Nunavut.

About Zonare

Zonare is solely dedicated to ultrasound excellence through its innovative, award-winning next generation technology, which provides the platform for the company’s Living Technology designed to meet its customers’ evolving imaging needs. The patented design and Zone Sonography Technology (ZST) architecture of the z.one ultra, Z.One PRO and ZS3 platforms deliver high-end image quality and clinical versatility. The company recently was given the 2014 North American Ultrasound Enabling Technology Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan, the third time in Zonare’s history.
