First Shimadzu Sonialvision G4 installed in Canada

October 7, 2015

ShimadzuQUEBEC CITY – Shimadzu Medical Systems USA, a subsidiary of Shimadzu Corporation, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of advanced diagnostic imaging systems, has announced the installation of the first Sonialvision G4 in Canada. The system is now up and running at Radiologie et Imagerie Médicale de la Capitale (RIMC), a leading DI clinic in Quebec City.

Shimadzu’s partner in Canada, Christie InnoMed, provided the Sonialvision G4 to the Quebec City clinic. The new radiography/fluoroscopy system is said to offer the best in class multi-functional performance, and is useful in a variety of examinations and examination environments. According to the company, it provides high image quality, while minimizing X-ray dose levels and is easy to operate.

The system has been designed to accommodate all users in a diversity of situations, making it ideal for a wide variety of examinations, such as orthopedics, general radiography studies, barium studies, endoscopy, urology and angiography etc.

A 17 × 17 inches wide field FPD provides more than 2.0m-long patient coverage without moving a patient, and enables the clinic to perform all kinds of examinations in very safe conditions.

The Sonialvision G4 achieves comprehensive dose reduction as a total system, equipped with various functions to reduce radiation exposure levels effectively such as removable grid, ideal grid-controlled pulsed fluoroscopy, new collimator with multi beam hardening (MBH) filters, and virtual collimation.

For its part, Radiologie et Imagerie Médicale de la Capitale (RIMC) distinguishes itself by the courtesy of its staff members, the competence of its employees and the rapid transmission of exam results to primary care physicians.

RIMC is committed to providing its customers access to their diagnostic imaging results as soon as possible within 24 to 48 hours. Accredited by the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR), RIMC meets the highest standards with respect to the care and safety of its patients. The clinic keeps itself abreast of the latest technological advances and strongly encourages its doctors to continuously enrich their knowledge through continuing education.

RIMC became a proud partner of Christie InnoMed in 1998 when it purchased Shimadzu’s RS-110 fluoroscopy suite, which they are still using today.

In 2015, they decided to stay on the cutting edge of technology and have extensively updated much of their imaging equipment. Knowing the robustness of Shimadzu’s line of equipment, RIMC purchased another Shimadzu suite and chose the revolutionary Sonialvision G4 system with its advanced features to meet all their R/F requirements.
