London Health Sciences selects Samsung X-ray

March 23, 2016

Samsung GC85A x-Ray

LONDON, Ont. – London Health Sciences Centre has selected the SAMSUNG GC85A Robotic Ceiling Digital X-Ray system for its University Hospital Radiology department.

Via the Healthcare Materials Management Services (HMMS), a five-year agreement has been signed with APEXIUM Medical Group Inc., the sole authorized distributor of SAMSUNG Electronics Medical Equipment for Canada, for the supply of SAMSUNG Digital X-Ray equipment for LHSC, St. Joseph’s, as well as HMMS current and future affiliates.

Healthcare Materials Management Services (HMMS), is a joint venture between the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) and St. Joseph’s Health Care, London, created to integrate and consolidate the functions of purchasing, contract management, accounts payable and inventory management. HMMS also provides services to other organizations or affiliates, including other joint ventures of LHSC and St. Joseph’s.

This installation is part of ongoing diagnostic imaging technology upgrades for the institution’s radiology department.

Prior to purchasing the Samsung DR systems, LHSC conducted an extensive evaluation process that started with a vendor fair with product presentations from seven Diagnostic Imaging companies, followed by site visits for the short-listed vendors, before making a final selection.
