Humber River Hospital to use Meditech’s web record

February 16, 2017

Barb CollinsWESTWOOD, Mass. – Humber River Hospital (HRH) made headlines for being North America’s first fully digital hospital and first to implement MEDITECH’s Oncology Management solution. Now, HRH is at it again as they announce they’ll be upgrading to MEDITECH’s Web Electronic Health Record (EHR) in 2017.

A MEDITECH customer for 26 years, the 656-bed acute care hospital located in Toronto, Ontario is one of Canada’s largest and busiest.

“We’re excited to continue our relationship and implement MEDITECH’s new Web EHR,” Barbara Collins (pictured), CEO at HRH said. “As a longtime customer, we’ve experienced the many benefits of utilizing MEDITECH’s EHR. These benefits don’t only cover patient care but they span across the whole organization. We’re fortunate to have wisely invested in a solution that’s been sustainable for the last two decades and that we foresee will continue to be well into the future.”

HRH is set to implement Critical Care as well as become an early adopter of MEDITECH’s Business and Clinical Analytics (BCA) solution. The progressive facility serves more than 850,000 people in the northwest Greater Toronto Area with one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Canada, with over 140,000 patient visits a year.

“We value MEDITECH and not only see them as our EHR vendor but as a collaborative partner we can depend on,” Peter Bak, CIO at HRH and 2016 Canadian CIO of the Year said. “MEDITECH’s innovative Web EHR fits perfectly in our pursuit to remain a fully digital hospital and aligns with our objective to participate in a cluster environment.”

“MEDITECH is proud of our strong partnership with HRH over the years,” MEDITECH executive vice president of sales and marketing, Helen Waters said. “Humber joins a growing list of progressive healthcare organizations emerging as the next generation of EHR leaders through their deployment of MEDITECH’s modernized Web EHR designed by physicians. We look forward to helping HRH achieve their strategic goals and supporting the provincial objectives around patient-centered care.”

MEDITECH is Canada’s leading EHR supplier for multi-site, regional solutions, which has united communities and fostered patient data sharing across vast expanses. MEDITECH has over 50 LIVE regional installations, comprised of over 500 inpatient facilities.
