Logibec wins RFP for Quebec’s Master Patient Index

March 8, 2017

Marc Brunet

MONTREAL – Logibec Inc. has won the call for tenders issued by the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) for the implementation of an Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI). This three-year contract with renewal options is for the implementation of a single standardized patient index in all healthcare facilities throughout Quebec.

The EMPI developed by Logibec provides centralized secure management of patient identification and acts as the unifying index for the various patient indexes used at different sites.

Patient identification promotes the standardization of practices and common identifiers across the province, thereby ensuring the secure identification of patients throughout their care trajectory.

Logibec’s EMPI will interface with all local and master patient indexes, originating from various software vendors, used in Quebec healthcare facilities to ensure data synchronization, resulting in a patient identification process that is more effective, uniform and efficient.

Marc Brunet (pictured), president and chief executive officer of Logibec, said: “This gain demonstrates the strength of our EMPI solution, which is a direct result of the work of our medical archivists, analysts, consultants and developers to develop and implement a solution that meets the expectations of the MSSS.”

Logibec’s approach for implementing the EMPI solution is aimed at enabling healthcare facilities to become self-reliant as soon as possible, with regards to understanding and using their solution while minimizing the impacts on other existing systems. The implementation of Logibec’s EMPI solution will contribute to improving the quality of care and the efficiency of the healthcare system in Quebec.
