Digital Health Week is coming, November 13 – 19
October 18, 2017
Designed as a week dedicated to celebrating digital health and the positive impacts it’s having on Canadians, clinicians and the health system, Digital Health Week will take place from November 13 – 19, 2017. It was established in 2014 by a community of leading healthcare associations, and has continued to gain momentum with each passing year.
As digital health rapidly expands, it is transforming healthcare delivery and its potential is boundless. Digital health can better inform clinicians, who can gain quicker access to the information they need to make decisions, as well as empower patients by enabling them to better manage their health through online patient portals, accessing laboratory results, booking appointments online visits and more.
These health innovations have been achieved via countless organizations and people working together to advance digital health in Canada. Digital Health Week recognizes and celebrates these advancements and the organizations and individuals behind them through interactive learning, sharing and celebrating.
With dozens of digital health organizations participating in Digital Health Week, there are a host of activities planned in and around the week. A few examples include Canada Health Infoway Partnership Conference (https://www.infoway-inforoute.ca/en/what-we-do/partnership-conference/) taking place in Calgary on November 14 and 15, COACH’s Women Leaders in Digital Health Award announcement (http://coachorgnew.com/all-blog-posts/women-leaders-digital-health-award-seeks-shine-spotlight-everyday-leadership), an #HCLDR Tweet Chat on November 14 at 8:30 p.m. ET, social media campaigns featuring successes and stories, and much more.
“One really easy way to be part of Digital Health Week is through social media,” says Shelagh Maloney (pictured), vice president, consumer health, communications & evaluation services at Canada Health Infoway. “Nearly all of our participating organizations have said they will be active on social media during Digital Health Week. And, you can too. It’s a great way to know what’s happening and join the celebration.”
