Lab-tech accelerator opens in Edmonton
March 14, 2018
EDMONTON – Company recruitment is now open for the DynaLIFE Accelerator, a new partnership between DynaLIFE, TEC Edmonton and Health City. Set to open June 2018, the program will validate cutting-edge diagnostics technologies in a real-world lab setting for approval into the healthcare system.
Diagnostics companies with well-developed technology can apply to the inaugural cohort and receive:
- Clinical samples
- Wet lab space at DynaLIFE headquarters in Edmonton
- Mentorship from DynaLIFE, TEC Edmonton and other strategic partners
- Funding to support the advancement of their technology
“Who knew almost half of clinical research in Alberta is focused on diagnostics technology? Those new diagnostics need a place where they can reach the finish line to real-world clinical application and commercialization,” says Jason Pincock (pictured), DynaLIFE CEO. “This accelerator will help ensure we use our research in Alberta first and build companies that develop and export these technologies to the world.”
“Alberta produces excellent technologies with commercial potential. Getting to a viable marketable product is a hurdle this accelerator will help Alberta companies achieve,” says Reg Joseph, Edmonton Health City CEO.
“This will be the third accelerator to open in partnership with TEC Edmonton over the last 18 months,” says Chris Lumb, TEC Edmonton CEO. “This demonstrates how innovation and entrepreneurship is thriving in the region and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”
The DynaLIFE Accelerator is now accepting applications. Program and eligibility information is available here: TECEdmonton.com/DynaLIFEAccelerator.
