Integration
Emergency Medical Services works with eShift
May 9, 2018
TORONTO, Ont. – Sensory Technologies Inc. (Sensory Tech) is pleased to announce that the Chatham Kent EMS community paramedic team will soon be able to view real time patient care information, enhancing decision-making when in a patient’s home, through access to eShift. During each community paramedic visit the details will be documented using the eShift chart feature and be made available to authorized members of the community of care. This new functionality will enable directing clinicians in the region to have updated records of care with real time data regardless of patient diagnoses or referral source.
This initiative will build further on existing program partnerships in the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) territory through operational cost reductions, improved reporting and quality of care.
“Medavie EMS Ontario and our Community Paramedic Program continuously evaluate new opportunities for system integration and efficiencies. We are very excited for this new opportunity with the Erie St. Clair LHIN and associated healthcare providers. We feel this new integration and service delivery model will maximize our community paramedics’ scope of practice and enable them to effectively engage with other healthcare providers to support clients and their families,” says Donald MacLellan, general manager of Medavie EMS Ontario, Chatham Kent.
Community based care delivery requires unique and innovative solutions to ensure both professionals and informal caregivers are engaged and connected. Having focused on enabling complex care in Ontario, the team at Sensory Tech is committed to provide engagement tools supporting wrap around care for patients in whatever location required.
Sensory Technologies vice president and CRO, Andrew Matthews says, “We are very excited to continue the evolution of eShift as a platform for complex community care. This partnership with Chatham Kent EMS represents a fantastic extension of the platform and increased quality of care for patients.”
Building on nine years of successful care provision using the eShift platform, this project will add EMS staff to the existing list of community of care providers directly using eShift’s mobile tools to manage patients in the province of Ontario including: primary care physicians, hospital clinicians, registered nurses, physiotherapists, respiratory therapists, occupational and speech therapists, PSWs, caregivers and patients themselves.
