CBI selects AlayaCare as strategic partner

May 6, 2019

Chris GingrasTORONTO – CBI Health Group, Canada’s largest community-based healthcare services network, is partnering with AlayaCare, an end-to-end market-leading technology platform, for its Home Health operational platform.

The strategic partnership also includes the sale of CBI’s own, proprietary practice management software, LinC and QCare, to AlayaCare, which will be responsible to support and maintain the existing products while the business transitions to AlayaCare’s core platform.

Christian Gingras (pictured), CIO of CBI Health Group, says the move to partner with an application-specific best-in-class technology provider makes sense in today’s changing world.

“CBI is a healthcare service delivery company, it’s what we do,” Gingras said. “The reality, however, is that everything we do related to patient care from intake, scheduling, care plans and even invoicing and outcomes has to be managed digitally so that information is easy to access and understand – through any number of channels. That is where AlayaCare excels and that is why it makes sense for us to partner with them so we can best meet the needs of both patients and our many stakeholders.”

“AlayaCare and CBI Home Health are committed to delivering excellent care and, as CBI’s technology partner, we can effect positive change through digital tools that allow caregivers to focus on clients and not administrative tasks,” said Adrian Schauer, CEO, AlayaCare. “We see this as an opportunity to bring integrated and collaborative care to an increasingly complex health care landscape and help deliver quality outcomes.”

Gingras says it’s crucial that information technology work well for employees, clients and partners while leaving CBI Health Group to focus on delivering patient outcomes.

“We realize that the future of integrated healthcare is built on delivering community-based, inter-disciplinary physical and behavioural health services across home, clinic and facility settings,” Gingras said. “In order for that to happen however, we have to have a digitization strategy that will keep pace with the changing healthcare needs of Canadians. This is an important step in that direction.”
