Alberta radiologists choose Intelerad’s solutions
November 13, 2019
MONTREAL – Intelerad Medical Systems, a leader in enterprise workflow solutions, announced that MIC Medical Imaging, Alberta’s largest radiology partnership, with 96 radiologists, has standardized on Intelerad’s Clario SmartWorklist and will be the first Canadian-based radiology group to leverage Odyssey, its new AI-augmented workflow solution. All 13 community-based clinics will standardize on the Intelerad solutions, followed by the 12 Edmonton-area hospitals using their diagnostic imaging services.
With support for a variety of third-party diagnostic viewers and voice recognition systems, Clario SmartWorklist automatically assigns cases to the most appropriate subspecialist, ensuring that the right study is read by the right person at the right time.
A context-aware worklist constantly evaluates and prioritizes cases in the queue in real-time, accounting for variables such as radiologist subspecialty, credentials, workload, location, and availability. The worklist assignment engine also factors in service-level agreement (SLA) requirements and STAT escalation needs.
Intelerad’s Odyssey harnesses the power of artificial intelligence and the technology behind the Intelerad worklist to offer an unparalleled workflow management solution, powered by a clinical AI engine. Connected via API, it analyzes the images and automatically returns the findings to the worklist which then escalates the study to the radiologist’s attention.
“MIC Medical Imaging was looking to unify its complex workflows and boost radiologists’ productivity, and we determined that Intelerad’s smart workflow solutions would help us achieve these objectives,” said Jeff Vandersteen (pictured), director of IT at Medical Imaging Consultants. “We are excited to be the first in Canada to standardize on the Clario SmartWorklist.”
Intelerad will continue to work closely with MIC Medical Imaging as they deploy both the SmartWorklist and Odyssey’s AI-augmented workflow solution.
“MIC Medical Imaging will be among the first of our clients to drive the adoption of AI through Odyssey, a clear indicator of the leading position it plans to retain in Alberta,” said Christian Bazinet, Intelerad’s chief operating officer.
Healthcare leaders will have an opportunity to experience firsthand the benefits of intelligent workflow solutions that optimize the reading of medical imaging studies at RSNA 2019, where Intelerad will be demonstrating its Clario SmartWorklist and Odyssey solutions.
