Digital Health Canada adds new education tracks

November 20, 2019

Mark CasselmanTORONTO – Digital Health Canada announced the addition of five Microsoft Learn tracks to the growing list of accredited programs included in the Digital Health Canada Continuing Education Provider (CEP) program.

The CEP accreditation program serves as a continuing education guide for professionals holding the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems – Canada (CPHIMS-CA) credential. Certified individuals must renew their CPHIMS-CA credential by earning 60 Continuing Education (CE) hours, every three years, from an approved education provider. The Digital Health Canada CEP program recognizes organizations as official sources of education and training that can earn CE hours to be used towards CPHIMS-CA certification renewal.

The following options from Microsoft Learn have been accredited:

  1. AI Business School General Track
  2. AI business school for healthcare
  3. Azure Fundamentals
  4. Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate
  5. Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate

“There is a growing awareness that Canadian professionals need a comprehensive learning pathway,” said Digital Health Canada CEO Mark Casselman (pictured). “We are very excited about the expanding education and professional certification opportunities that will arise from adding Microsoft to our Certified Education Provider accreditation program.”

Digital Health Canada Continuing Education Providers meet meticulous standards for curriculum quality and value. Microsoft Learn tracks are the latest addition to the growing CEP accreditation program that includes offerings from: Alberta Network for Health Information eXchange (ANHIX), Apps for Health, BC Health Information Management Professionals Society (BCHIMPS), FHIR North, National Institutes of Health Informatics Canada, Nova Scotia Health Authority, and Nova Scotia Nursing Informatics Group.
