Canadian Space Agency chooses Phyxable

TORONTO – Phyxable’s physiotherapy platform has been selected by the Canadian Space Agency as one of five Canadian companies for its Health Beyond Initiative. The Health Beyond initiative has a bold vision to position Canada as the global leader of remote healthcare in space and on Earth. At the center of this vision is the Connected Care Medical Module (C²M²). A C²M² is a one-stop shop for predictive, proactive, and reactive medical care.
It consists of state-of-the-art medical technologies incorporated into a mobile structure, such as a container. The technology will include a wide variety of advanced devices that will all be connected through a core computer system and will allow medical data to flow between devices. All of this aims to increase on-site medical capabilities and independence when it comes to remote healthcare. Read more about the Health Beyond Initiative here.
The long-term objective of C²M²s is to equip astronauts to manage their health throughout long-duration missions with minimal dependence on support from Earth. In preparation for eventual usage in deep-space missions, the modules will first be created, operated, and improved with collaborators on Earth in the coming years. In the short term, the project will have tremendous scope for the way healthcare is delivered to Canadians living in remote, medically isolated areas – far from hospitals, clinics and typical points of medical care.
Phyxable, given its experience delivering world class virtual care to vulnerable Canadians, is spearheading this effort to build a prototype. We hope to apply the learnings from this project to improve our virtual physical therapy services to Canadians far and wide.
Phyxable is an end-to-end virtual rehab and injury prevention platform. We enable people in pain to quickly get diagnosed, self-care, and prevent their injuries from recurring without ever leaving their homes or offices. Phyxable is rethinking how physical pain and injury can be managed and prevented through the use of virtual care, machine vision, and video content. We carry out this purpose by providing excellent rehabilitation and prehabilitation through a combination of virtual 1-on-1 video conversations, asynchronous secure messaging, a self-help exercise program, and augmented reality motion detection via the Phyxable application.
