CABHI’s program offers innovators up to $500,000

March 12, 2025

CAHBI logoTORONTO – To recognize Brain Awareness Week and Brain Health Awareness Month, on March 12, 2025, the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI), powered by Baycrest, will be launching Fuel – a new program to mobilize healthtech, biotech, and fintech solutions to support the increased need for brain health innovations.

Fuel offers up to $500,000 CAD in funding and acceleration services to Canadian researchers and start-up companies, empowering them to achieve research, development, and validation milestones with the ultimate goal of getting their solutions to the people who need them most.

Canadian researchers and companies encounter barriers when accessing capital and value-added services to support research and development, product and service refinement, pivotal validation, and pilot trials. These barriers can erode market competitiveness and growth while also delaying novel ideas from solving the most complex problems faced by older persons.

CABHI’s Fuel program is designed to target these challenges by offering Canadian innovators up to to $500,000 CAD to support:

  • Research & development
  • Product testing
  • Validation activities

In addition to funding, successful applicants will gain access to CABHI’s Acceleration Services. Acceleration Services include learning and networking opportunities through the Ignite Learning Series, which features subject matter experts from various industries.
