CHEO partners with CAN Health Network

May 7, 2025

Dr Vera EtchesOTTAWA – The Coordinated Accessible National (CAN) Health Network is excited to announce its partnership with CHEO, a leading pediatric healthcare and research centre in Ottawa. This new collaboration will spark even more transformative innovation projects at CHEO to improve healthcare delivery and access to care across the region.

The CAN Health Network is a national initiative connecting top healthcare organizations, known as Edges, with cutting-edge Canadian solutions. On a mission to drive economic prosperity and create better health for all, CAN Health aims to support Canadian businesses in scaling innovative health technologies not only across Canada, but also globally.

As an Edge, CHEO will work with CAN Health and the CHEO Research Institute’s Core Innovation team to identify key challenges in its organization, and match those with leading, market-ready Canadian solutions. Innovation is a cornerstone of CHEO, and this collaboration will help CHEO introduce even more health-tech solutions to its patients and staff faster than ever, while creating more opportunities for Canadian tech companies to grow and innovate.

“CHEO is all about giving children and youth their best life, and innovation has a major role to play in that mission. Our teams are constantly using new technologies to improve the care we provide and increase access to compassionate, exceptional care,” said Vera Etches (pictured), president and CEO of CHEO.

Based in Canada’s capital, CHEO is a globally renowned health and research organization with a mission to provide exceptional care and support to children, youth and their families so they can live their best life.

“We are excited to welcome CHEO to the CAN Health Network,” said Dr. Dante Morra, founder and chair of the CAN Health Network. “This partnership will help bring innovative solutions to CHEO’s teams and enhance the high-quality care they already provide to children. By working together, we will help expand access to cutting-edge health technologies that can benefit pediatric patients both regionally and beyond.”
