MYND and Hello Alpha partner on weight loss
July 16, 2025
VANCOUVER and PALO ALTO, Calif. — MYND Therapeutics (MYNDTX), an innovative digital therapeutics company, and Hello Alpha, a virtual healthcare company, have announced a partnership to offer the Myndset, smartphone-based, AI-driven, immersive digital therapy program for weight loss and obesity care.
MYNDTX recently launched the Myndset program for clinician referrals to help create behavioral change in support of weight loss and weight management.
The digital therapy program can be used for three different populations of patients:
- Patients who want to learn more about science-based neurobehavioural solutions like Myndset;
- Patients who have hit a plateau on weight loss medications and Myndset may help; and
- Patients who are transitioning off weight loss medication and the provider would like to recommend Myndset to help patients maintain their weight loss.
Michael Bidu (pictured), founder and CEO of MYND Therapeutics Inc., signed a Preferred Partnership Agreement jointly with Gloria Lau, founder and CEO of Hello Alpha, to educate and train clinicians, support research, and publish results in the United States and in international medical journals. The aim is to improve access to obesity prevention, treatment and management to Hello Alpha patients in the United States.
Obesity affects more than 132 million Americans — 40% of the population — with projections showing 86% will be overweight by 2030 without intervention. While weight loss medications show promise, patient adherence continues to be a challenge.
The Myndset app addresses this critical gap by transforming obesity care and weight loss therapy into an engaging, game-like experience that patients use and stick to. Built on years of neuroscience, behavioural research, clinical practice, and video games development the app harnesses the power of AI to help patients understand their emotional connection to food and how to control cravings through virtual simulation and immersive exercises.
MIA, which is a proprietary AI agent, guide and companion helps patients to learn new skills like Expectations, Weight Bias, Wanting, Exercise, Diet and Nutrition, and more. Immersive technologies like AR/ VR/XR and gamification are used to deliver an effective, risk-free and scalable therapy that makes lasting behavior change effective and enjoyable.
“I believe MYNDTX is well aligned with Hello Alpha’s core values and mission to make access to personalized care simple and convenient. MYNDTX is all about the democratization of healthcare and digitisation of medicine. This is a strategic partnership and it’s MYNDTX’s first beachhead into the US healthcare system. We are excited to work together with a strong and innovative partner like Hello Alpha for the benefit of their patients.” said Michael Bidu, founder & CEO, MYND Therapeutics.
“The Myndset app is a safe and effective neurobehavioral tool that simply doesn’t exist in the Canadian and the US healthcare systems. It empowers both clinicians and patients with a digital tool that solves adherence to treatment.” said Dr. David Macklin, family physician, obesity and weight management expert, and co-author of the Canadian Adult Obesity Clinical Practice Guidelines (Behavioural Health chapter).
“Hello Alpha is committed to improving access to affordable, high-quality healthcare. Our team of licensed providers offer our patients whole-person care for more than 100 conditions, including weight management, in all 50 states,” said Gloria Lau, founder and CEO, Hello Alpha.
