Launch of new digital health portal for patients
April 1, 2026
VANCOUVER – Residents and patients who access care from Vancouver Coastal Health, Providence Health Care and the Provincial Health Services Authority programs now have a new tool at hand to access information from their patient records.
VCH, PHC and PHSA have launched a new digital portal that provides patients with increased online access to their health and medical information.
AccessMyHealth, which was developed in collaboration by the health organizations, enables patients to make more informed decisions about their health and wellness by providing increased access to their personal medical information, including:
- Care team notes and documents
- Upcoming appointments
- Diagnostic and laboratory results
- Allergies
- Procedure history
The new portal is accessible to eligible residents of B.C. who receive care at sites administered by the health organizations and have either a Health Gateway or BC Services Card account.
The launch of AccessMyHealth reflects a broader shift towards digital transformation within the healthcare sector. The new digital portal integrates with CST Cerner, the electronic medical records system, and advances the BC Digital Health Strategy, which seeks to empower patients and promote person- and family- centered care by putting health information directly and securely into the hands of patients.
It is important to note labs and medical imaging from sites outside of PHSA (including most BC Cancer sites), Vancouver Coastal Health, and Providence Health Care will be available in Health Gateway, not AccessMyHealth. Northern Health, Interior Health and Island Health also offer patient information portals for certain reports, results and services.
Eligible BC residents ages 12 and up will be able to access the portal through the provincial Health Gateway using their BC Services Card. Patients who need help logging in to AccessMyHealth can contact the Service BC Help Desk for assistance with BC Services Card login. The AccessMyHealth site offers support options to assist patients with questions about the portal itself.
