Jeremy Petch joins Trillium Health as chief AI officer
June 3, 2026
TORONTO – Trillium Health Partners has announced that Dr. Jeremy Petch, PhD (pictured) is joining the organization as its inaugural Chief AI and Digital Planning Officer.
The appointment represents Trillium’s continued commitment to building one of Canada’s leading digitally enabled health systems – one defined not only by illness, but by the health and well-being of people and communities.
AI is already helping teams at Trillium Partners deliver exceptional care, with more than 10 active solutions supporting patients and teams.
From predictive discharge planning that has helped reduce hospital stays by up to one day, to diagnostic imaging tools that support faster identification and treatment of brain bleeds, the hospital system is putting technology to work in ways that improve care and experience.
With more than 15 years of experience leading AI and digital transformation across complex health systems, Dr. Petch brings the expertise to help scale this work in partnership with Trillium’s clinical teams, researchers, and community partners.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Trillium Health Partners as Chief AI and Digital Planning Officer,” said Dr. Petch. “THP truly exemplifies what it means to be a learning health system – embedding research, data, and continuous improvement into how care is delivered every day.
“That commitment is backed by the Institute for Better Health and a leadership team that understands what it takes to translate evidence into practice at scale. I’m joining because I believe AI and digital innovation, pursued rigorously and equitably, can fundamentally transform how we deliver care. THP has built the foundation to do that work, and I can’t wait to contribute to it.”
Dr. Petch joins Trillium Health Partners from his previous role as director of the Centre for Data Science and Digital Health (CREATE) at Hamilton Health Sciences.
