Cloud DX wins remote monitoring deal in PEI

January 3, 2024

CloudDX imageCHARLOTTETOWN – Cloud DX has signed a contract worth over $1.3 million with Health PEI, the Provincial Health Authority for Prince Edward Island. It is Cloud DX’s second win after becoming the exclusive vendor for Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) services through Mohawk Medbuy, a national, not-for-profit shared services organization.

The Cloud DX-MMC master agreement, unveiled in June 2023, enables the company to address crucial healthcare priorities within Prince Edward Island.

Cloud DX is now the exclusive vendor for RPM services under four Provincial-level agreements, including Alberta Health Services, Alberta Primary Care Network (PCN), Yukon Health, and now Health PEI.

The contract with Health PEI spans three years with the potential for two extensions of two years each. The overall contract value is $1.34 million.

Under the contract, Cloud DX Connected Health RPM will be deployed across three high-priority use cases within the province: primary care, home care and rehabilitation.

Cloud DX Connected Health is expected to support up to 300 new patients annually. The approximate cost to deliver the kits and services over the full extended contract is estimated at C$295,000.

“As Canadian Provincial Health Authorities commit to fully deploying home-grown, highly innovative technology platforms like Cloud DX Connected Health, Canada is becoming a world-wide leader in 21st Century healthcare delivery,” CEO Robert Kaul said in a statement.

“We are proud to be part of this growing movement to make healthcare better for all Canadians.”

Andrew MacDougall, Health PEI’s executive director of Community Health and Seniors Care, praised Cloud DX’s user-friendly and intuitive platform, emphasizing the platform’s support for ease of deployment, patient onboarding, adherence to care instructions, and technical support for patients.

“We found that the Connected Health kit delivered to patients, and the Clinical portal used by our providers were both very user-friendly and intuitive,” MacDougall said.

Cloud DX is a Kitchener, Ontario-based medical technology firm.
