Finalists for AGE-WELL’s Impact Challenge

September 17, 2025

Bridgette MurphyMONTREAL – AGE-WELL is pleased to announce three finalists for the 2025 AGE-WELL National Impact Challenge: Implementing Change, a national pitch competition spotlighting startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with technology-based solutions for healthy aging.

Taking place on October 23, 2025, at the AGE-WELL 10th Annual Conference in Montreal, this national event is one of Canada’s most dynamic competitions for AgeTech innovators with solutions ready for real-world implementation.

Finalists will pitch their innovations live to a panel of expert judges, showcasing how their product or service can positively impact older Canadians and/or caregivers.

The winner will receive $20,000 in cash plus in-kind prizes, access to the AGE-WELL Innovation Studio, and resources to help drive real-world implementation.

Meet the three finalists taking part in the 2025 AGE-WELL National Impact Challenge:

  • caregiVR is an immersive VR therapy platform for senior care. This safe, drug-free solution enhances resident well-being, eases dementia symptoms, reduces staff burnout, and makes care more fun for all involved. Sustained adoption is supported through our unique VR Therapy Staff Certification and robust reporting that ensure lasting success.
  • Root & Seed harnesses the age-old power of storytelling to connect generations over family stories, traditions and heritage for safekeeping. Once squarely focused on families, Root & Seed has expanded to help meaningfully connect caregivers and elders with Kinkeeper Training using intuitive physical and digital tools benefitting relationships, elder health and wellness with home care partner Just Like Family.
  • WeCare Dynamics is a cloud-based health service that provides continuous monitoring of vital signs and wellness indicators without wearables or cameras. Using mmWave radar and AI, it promotes independence and dignity while helping manage chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and frailty. Caregivers gain real-time alerts that enable earlier interventions and safer aging at home.

“AGE-WELL is advancing solutions that change the lives of older adults and caregivers,” said Bridgette Murphy (pictured), acting CEO of AGE-WELL, Canada’s technology and aging network. “We are proud to host the AGE-WELL National Impact Challenge, a marquee event showcasing game-changing innovations that can transform the health and quality of life of Canadians.”

AGE-WELL thanks the generous sponsors of the 2025 AGE-WELL National Impact Challenge: the Ontario Brain Institute (OBI) and SE Health. It is also grateful to its promotional partners: CanAge, the CIHR Institute of Aging, and YouAreUNLTD.

Over the past decade, AGE-WELL has served as a catalyst for technological innovation, empowering older adults to live healthy, independent, and engaged lives while driving Canada’s AgeTech sector.
