SYDNEY, N.S. – Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston (pictured) says his government will invest $58.9 million to develop a new medical school at Cape Breton University by fall 2025. EDMONTON – Alberta’s UCP government has announced a plan to spend almost $200 million over three years to train thousands of new healthcare professionals. TORONTO – More than 90 students who studied to become ultrasound technologists at Canadian All Care College have been told they won’t be allowed to get jobs in their chosen field. It turns out the school wasn’t properly accredited. A spokesperson for the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities told CTV News Toronto, “Accreditation Canada determined in November 2022 that Canadian All Care College’s Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Program did not meet the professional standards set by the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) and revoked CACC’s status.”
