Mackenzie Health shares expertise with local clinic

VAUGHAN, Ont. – As an organization evolving to a two-hospital model and a network of community locations, Mackenzie Health understands the importance of efficient IT connectivity and is now able to share its knowledge with community healthcare providers.

Mackenzie Health IT technicians, in partnership with Huawei, a global information and communications technology solutions provider, have worked together to refresh the Vaughan Community Health Centre’s IT network.

The comprehensive project involved the full spectrum of work, from design, cabling and security features, to enhanced security systems and network technologies.

“The partnership between Mackenzie Health and Huawei brought improvement in the speed and reliability of the Vaughan Community Health Centre’s IT services by over 10 times, from 100 MB to 1GB,” said Michael Tian (pictured), manager of technical infrastructure, Mackenzie Health.

Prior to Mackenzie Health’s assistance, Vaughan Community Health Centre’s network was over a decade old and needed to be updated with more current technology. The new fast and stable network, including full WiFi coverage to their full facility and parking lot, as well as remote VPN solution with Active Directory Integration, now provides easier and more secure remote access. Since completion in January, no calls for IT support have been received.

The Vaughan Community Health Centre is located at 9401 Jane Street in Vaughan, ON. Mackenzie Health also operates three clinical programs – the Urgent Care Centre, adult day program and dialysis services – in the same building, as part of its mission to improve care in our communities.
