Mackenzie Health announces interim president/CEO

RICHMOND HILL, Ont. – Mackenzie Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary-Agnes Wilson (pictured) as its interim president and CEO. Mary-Agnes brings a wealth of experience to this role, with a distinguished career in healthcare that spans clinical nursing, management, research, and academic and executive leadership positions.
Over the past seven years at Mackenzie Health, she has served as executive vice president, chief operating officer and chief nursing executive, gaining a deep understanding of the hospital’s operations and strategic priorities.
During her time at Mackenzie Health, Mary-Agnes has been pivotal in opening Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, launching innovative programs such as the Long Stay Unit, and driving improvements in patient safety, clinical education and operational efficiency. Her leadership has helped expand access to emergency, medical, surgical, mental health, specialized and community care services.
Mary-Agnes will provide the leadership and stability necessary to guide Mackenzie Health through this important time. The organization looks forward to continued success under her leadership as it prepares for a smooth transition to the next phase of growth. Plans are underway to advance recruitment for the permanent position.
Earlier, Mackenzie Health announced that after more than 14 years of visionary leadership, its current president and CEO, Altaf Stationwala, will be moving to an exciting new opportunity as the president and CEO at Unity Health. His last day at Mackenzie Health will be June 27.
